Me, standing in the snow with mountains behind

Hi, I'm issam.

I'm a software engineer from Mardan, Pakistan. I studied computer science at GIKI and graduated in 2024. Since then I've worked remotely for a software team in the Netherlands, writing smart contracts and the backends and web apps around them.

In my own time I make games in Godot, under the name Meloo Interactive. Meloo means bear where I come from, which is why the logo is a bear.

Two kinds of work that teach each other

My day job and my games look nothing alike, but the same problems keep showing up in both.

BY DAY

Software that moves money

I write smart contracts for prediction markets, marketplaces, staking and lootboxes. I also build the Django and Express services behind them and the React and Next.js screens people use.

WHAT CROSSES OVER
Results anyone can checkAt work I made lootbox draws provable. In Fresh Powder, the server re-runs every sled run with the game's own simulation before it counts.
Django and Next.jsThe tools I use at work also run Fresh Powder's online backend and this website.
Latency budgetsMy student rover had to think fast on a tiny computer. Neon Brawlers has to hide a quarter-second of lag.
IN MY OWN TIME

Calm games for phones

I build games end to end in Godot 4: the gameplay, the physics, the tools for making levels, the servers, and the store releases. Three of them you can play on this site.

How I got here

  1. Sep 2020Started computer science at GIKI
  2. Apr 2023Freelance web and mobile apps for clients abroad
  3. 2023 to 2024Built a self-driving rover, third place at GIKI
  4. May 2024Software engineer, remote team in the Netherlands
  5. 2026Started making games: six so far
  6. NowFresh Powder goes online, and this site with it

Off the clock: robots and drones

The rover never really left me. I design small printable robots and drones, and fly each one in simulation before I print it: a $30 robot base that runs ROS 2 navigation, a tiltrotor drone, a vibration-damped flight controller tray, and a camera mount for a robot arm.
